Donate an Instrument

2017 Musical Instrument Program Annual Report

Local 14 proudly supports the Albany Fund for Education’s Musical Instrument Program. If you have an instrument that you are not using, consider donating it to a student who may not otherwise have an opportunity to own, rent or play one.

Share Your Love of Music

The Albany Fund for Education is collecting musical instruments to put in the hands of Albany’s students. All donated instruments will be refurbished and restored to playing condition before given to a child.

Recycle a Musical Instrument You No Longer Need

New and used instruments (with the exception of pianos and organs) will be gratefully accepted. We especially need student-sized band and orchestra instruments. You can drop off your instrument during the school year in the main office of Tony Clement Center for Education c/o John Lenio at 395 Elk Street. Please use the entrance for staff, faculty, and visitors on the uptown side of the building to reach the main office. You can also call 518-207-5572 or to make arrangements for your instrument to be picked up. The Albany Fund for Education is a registered 501 (c3) nonprofit organization and your donation will qualify for a tax deduction. You may want to download the AFE Instrument Donation Form to provide your name and address so AFE can send you a letter of thanks and acknowledge your donation for tax purposes.

Please note: If you want to purchase an instrument for a student’s use or donate funds to refurbish one, please call 518-207-5572 to talk about how you can help. You can also make a donation specifically targeted to the music program on our website at

This project is supported by a generous contribution from Aimee Allaud, a supporter of music in our schools, the Stewart’s Shops, John Keal Music, and the Albany Fund for Education.
